SSI’s services included control establishment, verification of existing conditions, layout of all substructure and superstructure components for all Piers and Abutments, layout of all railroad tie transitions, provided slope stake and grading limits for all slope changes, provided line and grade for finish rail along with all rail joints and provided as-built survey of the entire project. SSI also performed track monitoring prior, during, and after construction to track any movement of the existing rail. In addition to staking, SSI conducted preconstruction rail scanning to support engineering and design efforts, providing accurate existing condition data to improve coordination and reduce risk during construction.
