Surveying Solutions Inc. (SSI) has expanded its UAV capabilities with the acquisition of advanced thermal drone cameras to further support and advance the solar industry. These systems allow SSI to perform post-construction thermal inspections that quickly and accurately identify performance issues within solar arrays. Using thermal imagery, SSI can detect anomalies such as single- and double-bypassed modules, panel hotspots and multiple hotspots, open circuits, over-panel obstructions, shaded or underperforming modules, and malfunctioning tracker systems. This technology provides solar installers and owners with clear, actionable insights to improve system efficiency, reduce downtime, and protect long-term asset performance.
